Origin: Ruwer. On the nose, the Grünhäuser Réserve displays a rather restrained fruit aroma. Light nuances of yellow stone fruit such as mirabelle plum and bright apricot pair with citrus fruits like lime, lemon, and kiwi. When swirled, ethereal notes and wild herbs rise in the nose. The blue slate soil leaves impressions of wet stone. On the palate, the wine reveals itself to be very taut, austere, and mineral-driven. The herbs and wet stone are once again very present. An astonishing salinity combines excellently with the citric fruit aromatics and lingers seemingly endlessly on the palate. A wine that leaves an impression not with its fruit, but with its enormous tension, intensity, and austerity, and is guaranteed to provide pleasure for more than the next decade. The VDP.ORTSWEIN from Maximin Grünhaus has been using the historical term 'Grünhäuser' again since 2020. The high quality level of the 'Alte Reben' (Old Vines) is continued, with the origin simply being more clearly specified: because in Grünhaus, we have the unique situation where the village, our winery, and our monopoly vineyard all share the same name: Grünhäuser. The grapes continue to come exclusively from the VDP.GROSSE LAGEN Herrenberg and Abtsberg and are wonderful ambassadors for Maximin Grünhaus. Already wonderfully balanced and ready to drink in its youth, they can also mature for decades. In 2020, the Grünhäuser Réserve was allowed to age on the lees for 20 months for the first time before it found its way into the bottle.

A velvety game soup that impresses with the earthy depth of wild mushrooms and delicate nuances of fresh thyme. The subtle acidity and tender venison create an elegant balance on the palate.
