Growth: Ruwer. Due to the high slate content of the soil, the wines are very mineral and particularly good in dry years. Thanks to the cold air influence from the Hochwald forest, this vineyard produces highly mineral wines with cool notes. The wines are very punchy and long-lived. KASELER Riesling VDP.Ortswein dry: meticulous viticulture in traditional vineyards combined with artisanal vinification in the cellars of our Schlossgut Marienlay. In total, this results in a classic, characterful RUWER Riesling shaped by a cool winegrowing climate and blue slate. It is the most spirited of our trio of VDP.Ortsweine from MOSEL, SAAR, and RUWER: fruity and spicy, distinctly mineral, and immensely crisp. Viticulture & Vinification: During harvest, we ensure careful selection and gentle processing; for maturation, we rely on natural fermentation (spontaneous fermentation) in stainless steel tanks. This allows us to underline the uniqueness of the individual vineyards. For the Grosse Gewächse wines, we partly use traditional wooden barrels. By aging longer on the fine lees, we increase complexity and fruit diversity. Serving temperature 8-10℃.
