Origin: Ruwer. A juicy, full-bodied Riesling Kabinett VDP.GROSSE LAGE® with aging potential. It presents a mineral and fruity profile with hints of Nashi pear on the nose, while convincing on the palate with menthol, spice, and perfumed sweetness. The small, refined 2021 vintage is crisp and delicately fruity with lean alcohol content and invigorating acidity. The winter of 2020/2021 was characterized by wet, warm months, while February and March were warmer than average. Due to significantly cooler temperatures in the following months, budburst was severely delayed—about three weeks later than in the previous year. June brought warmer weather, though also more storms. In good locations, such as our monopole site Josephshöfer, this led to a massive growth spurt, resulting in a successful flowering overall. The actual summer was too cool and far too wet, leading to high disease pressure. Due to late budburst, the grape harvest did not begin until early October; thanks to consistent quality management and selective manual harvesting, the must weights averaged around 80° Oechsle.

The fruity Nashi pear notes pair beautifully with the nutty aroma of the cashews and the crisp, aromatically spiced vegetables.
